Cascade & Columbia River Railroad
The Cascade & Columbia River Railroad runs on the former GN and then BN WO branch line north to Oroville, WA. The interchange point with the BNSF is at Olds Junction on the north end of Wenatchee, WA. This line was purchased and still is operated by RailAmerica, based in Boca Raton, Florida. The CSCD (reporting marks) headquarters are located in Omak, WA. The CSCD runs 1 train a day from Oroville to Wenatchee and back carrying lumber and forest byproducts, grain and sand and gravel.
I have too few pictures of this interesting line since it's right in my back yard. It passes some of the most spectacular scenery as it clings to the basalt cliffs and fruit orchards that line the Columbia River. I need to take time to follow this line more closely. Below are pictures that I have taken around the interchange point with the BNSF at Wenatchee.
